Nigerian man Jackson Igwebuike, allegedly caught with $10 million worth of meth

A Nigerian man Jackson Igwebuike in Australia on a student visa, allegedly caught with $10 million worth of the drug ice in his possession in Canberra has appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court.

The 32-year-old was charged with attempting to possess 10 kilograms of methamphetamine after being arrested as he attempted to board a bus bound for Sydney on Saturday. Police believe the drug was illegally imported from China

Yesterday, it was revealed Australian Border Force in Sydney had intercepted a consignment of three Chinese statues containing the drugs earlier this month.

Police allege the drugs were delivered to a property in Kaleen in Canberra's north, where the statues were collected by Igwebuike and then driven to a second location in Kaleen.

Police said Igwebuike had the packages, which were originally concealed in the statues, on him when he was arrested at the Jolimont Centre.
